Ashley A. Smith
Ashley Anne Smith was born on July 4, 1978, and was raised in Leawood, Kansas. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas Christian University in 2000 and went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2003. After law school, Ashley returned to her hometown of Kansas City and began practicing law at the Johnson County Public Defender’s Office. There, she gained invaluable experience in the area of criminal defense. She carried a full felony caseload, working cases in their entirety, representing clients at preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and jury trials.
After moving to Texas, Ashley’s practice focused on civil litigation, including personal injury, commercial litigation, title litigation, and bad faith litigation throughout the State of Texas. Ashley has represented local transportation companies as well as Fortune 100 companies. Ashley also has extensive experience in real estate litigation representing title companies, lenders, and property owners throughout the State of Texas. Her real estate experience involves a variety of cases including bad faith defense, foreclosures, lien priority disputes, deed reformation, breach of contract, adverse possession, and boundary and easement disputes. She recently served as an officer, vice-president, and senior litigation counsel to a Fortune 200 Title Insurance Company.
